The Daly Pumpkin Patch
(Alivia, Astrid, Kourtney, and Emilia)
It has been a baby boom year at Leo A Daly. I think there will be nine babies welcomed into the Daly Family in 2009. These little pumpkins were the baby girls of the four Daly mommies. We had our babies in June, July, and September. Needless to say there was a lot of pregnant bellies in our office for a few months.

Not Me Monday........

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

While driving home the other day, I most definitely did not turn the music up and sing really loud in the car in hopes that my sweet little Alivia would like the sound and stop crying long enough to get home.

I wouldn’t even consider having a small amount of Gordita Ranch sauce on one of my gorditas knowing it contains dairy and I don’t eat it because Alivia doesn’t tolerate it. I wouldn’t consider it even though I miss dairy soooo much!!

There is no way I would lay down the front seat of my car to change a blow out diaper because the restroom at my hair salon doesn’t have a changing table and I didn’t want to show up for Alivia’s Halloween pictures with a diaper that nasty. And, I most definitely did not forget to put a spare change of clothes in the diaper bag resulting in a portion of Alivia’s costume being her change of clothes either.

I wouldn’t admit that I love Baby Gap clothes so much that I went to two stores in two days just to peruse the sale racks to see if I missed anything. Alivia most definitely needs the clothes I didn’t buy!

Because of a change in our morning routine, I most certainly did not get in the car this morning and scream “I’m Late” due to three poopy diapers as we were trying to get out the door. Luckily, it didn’t faze the sleeping baby in the back that I normally do not take!!

Someone Special has a Birthday Today!!

My baby is 3 months old!!

Ok so three months plus but who is counting. We have had quite a few changes in the last few weeks. Alivia transitioned to the crib from the bassinet, I returned to work, and Alivia has been spending her days with Aunt Jamie, Cousin Ayla, Gigi, and Daddy. The transition to the crib has been a little rough but I think we are finally figuring it out. We added a mobile that she absolutely loves. She sings and talks to it as it spins, projects images and plays music. The first few nights she was waking up multiple times but the last few she has gone back to sleeping through the night. Jamie is watching Alivia for a while before we transition to daycare but this week they are on vacation in Florida so Gigi, Daddy and I are filling in. The transition back to work went much better than I thought. I was pretty much a wreck the Sunday prior to returning but it wasn't even half as bad as I anticipated. Tom takes Alivia in the morning which is truly a blessing and then I pick her up in the afternoon. We decided that I would go back 4 days a week instead of 5 and that I would work 7-4 so I have more of the afternoon with her. I seems to be working out just right.
Alivia is changing so much each day and getting more and more alert. She loves to play on her mat, swing, go on walks, watch anything hanging from the ceiling, the TV, and reading books. She has become extremely aware of her hands recently. She plays with the toys hanging on her play mat and LOVES to put them in her mouth. She is talking more and more as well as giggling a lot. She has great big smiles that I thinks take after her Grandpa Dean. Who knows maybe her nickname will be Smilie too. She has strong head control and has rolled over a couple times from her belly to her back. She loves being on her back looking up so rolling to her belly may be a bit of a challenge. We are so excited to see the changes that come this month!!

Paint the Town Orange (Originally posted to my DBS Blog)

Two of my girlfriends are co-chairs for Paint the Town Orange taking place November 12 at the Scott Conference Center. At this event, Liz Funk, author of “Supergirls Speak Out: Inside the Secret Crisis of Overachieving Girls,” will address this phenomenon growing in Omaha and around the country. The event will benefit YWCA Omaha and fund the organization’s mission of helping women and their families build lives of strength, growth and stability. Dinner and Ms. Funk's program will be from 6:30-8 p.m. with a boutique before and after. Well, I happen to be providing one of my newest "products" as a part of the boutique......Burp Cloths!! My little girl Alivia is a bit of a spitty baby and I received a burp cloth as a gift that is super absorbent and thought "hmmm I think I could make these" and away I went. Here are my burpies I am contributing to the event.
Stay tuned....I will also be selling these through my Blog and www.etsy.com.

My Gap Baby

I LOVE Baby Gap!! I have been doing some shopping in the last couple weeks for fall clothes for Alivia. We have lots of newborn and 0-3 outfits but as she approaches the 3 month mark she is starting to outgrow a lot of them and with the seasons changing she needed some warmer clothes. Baby Gap has such cute clothes but I really love how they look on Livi and how they wear. They are good quality clothes. Through numerous spit-ups and blow outs her Gap clothes still look good as new. Now if her growing would slow a bit or the clothes would grow with her, we would get to enjoy them longer.
Starting her early on protecting our planet!
Finally getting to wear the cute hat from Sarah with the dress that I of course had to get to match the hat!

Love the new fall line!!
Getting ready to watch Uncle Grant play baseball.
Excited to wear her new hoodie from Suzy!
Grant pitching but the wind was in our face so Livi had to have her back to him.

***Disclaimer.........Tom - I didn't buy all of these clothes. Some of them were gifts via gift cards.

Child of God

Our prayers were answered when we found out we were pregnant but we had no idea of the true blessing until we held our sweet baby Alivia for the first time. We prayed long and faithfully to one day be blessed with a child and in God's time He gave us the most amazing gift. We want to raise Alivia knowing the relationship with God that we continue to build every day. We want to teach her the importance of faith and prayer and that everything is possible through Christ. We want her to know that no matter what happens in her life, she will always have God as her center. On Sunday, September 27th, we gathered and celebrated with our family and friends in faith Alivia's Baptism. It was absolutely wonderful to hear as Pastor Wenda Fry spoke of the faith that Tom and I have and about our miracle Alivia. Pastor Wenda has walked with us through some hard times and times that tested our faith so it was extremely special that she was able to Baptize Alivia knowing our journey. We chose Tom's sister Jamie and her husband Darren as Alivia's Godparents. My sister Beth and her husband Randy also stood with us as we stated our Baptismal Promises. I have every confidence that our family will help us raise Alivia with a strong basis of faith. Here are a few pictures from her special day!!

"Then little children were being brought to him in order that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples spoke sternly to these who brought them; but Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.'"
