Give the gift of life....in honor of Chris!

My friend Megan's dad, Chris McGargill, has been diagnosed with Myelofibrosis, which is a disease of the bone marrow. Essentially, due to scarring of the bone marrow his body is no longer producing the red blood cells that it needs to support his vital organs. In order to support his declining red blood cells, her dad is currently receiving blood transfusions every 6 – 7 days.

Give the gift of life this holiday season—donate blood. Your donation could save up to three people’s lives, including Chris McGargill. Please consider donating blood in his honor. The blood drive is Wednesday, December 29th from 6:30 am – 6:30 pm at Millard North High School. The entire process—from registration through snacks—only takes an hour of your time. You can register by clicking here* and scheduling an appointment for the holiday community blood drive. (You can also call 1-800-RED-CROSS if that is easier for you.) When you register, be sure to write “donating in honor of Chris McGargill” in the comment box so they can track accordingly. If you register by December 3, you will be entered into a drawing to win a custom Husker shirt (pictured below) designed by me - Designed by Sabrina!! They will also have a special table of snacks at the blood drive dedicated to those donating in her dad’s honor, and child care will be provided by Red Cross volunteers!

If you have any questions on eligibility or blood donations, please click here.

To read more about her dad’s story, please click here.

And please help spread the word. If just 10 percent of people in the U.S. give blood this holiday season, up to 34.2 million lives might be saved. We are always in need of blood. Please forward this email on to anyone you know that might be interested in saving a life. If you’d post the following to your Facebook pages or email it to your networks, I would really appreciate it!

Halloween....long overdue!!

Alivia had a super fun Halloween!!  She loved the idea of getting a bucket full of candy!  She got a little confused at times when someone would put the candy in her pumpkin rather than getting to pick a piece (or two or three).  I think she thought they were going to take the candy she already had.  We filled the weekend with lots of fun activities....

Friday....Trick or Treat with daycare friends and then to Leo A Daly!
Saturday...Trick or Treat at Oakview Mall with Ayla, Caleb and Cady
Sunday....Halloween dinner with Livi's friends!!
(left to right - Will, Max, McKenna, Alivia, Jackson, and Kate)
The Main Event....Trick or Treating in Gigi and Papa's neighborhood!!
Final destination...Gigi and Papa's House to dig in to all that candy!

Hanging with Ethan!!

Alivia and I had the chance to grab Ethan for a trip to Vala's.  It was so fun to watch them play together!!  I'm not sure what I was thinking taking a 1 year old and a 2 year old to Vala's by myself but we survived and then we crashed for a nice long nap!

Day 4 {re-living vacation}

We spent Day 4 at Hollywood Studios...
meeting more characters and having lots of fun!!
Alivia doesn't watch very much television but she does occationally watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
We were able to go to a "live" version of the show.  The puppets and interactive set were super fun!
We sat front row....Alivia LOVED LOVED LOVED this!
She danced, talked and yelled with excitement the whole show.
 Taking in every minute!
For lunch we ate at Play 'n Dine where you eat and mingle
with the characters from Playhouse Disney.
Alivia and June from Little Einsteins.
 Handy Manny!!
Alivia talking with Little Einsteins Leo.
After lunch we went to play in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids mock set.
 Slides are a favorite!
This was a BIG slide...
didn't really know how big until Alivia went flying down...
thanks to Holly for catching her!!
Not real happy I made her take a time out for a pic.
Napping...this is how we roll when we are away from a bed!
Lots of baby wearing!
Heading on to Pixar Studios.
Getting in line for the Toy Story ride!
(note the 100 minute wait...luckily it was only about 40 minutes!)
Mr. Potato Head entertained us during our wait.
Hats off to Hollywood Studios!  We had a blast!
Actually so much fun, Alivia didn't want to leave!
Up next Day 5...last and final...a little Downtown Disney and then back home we go.
