Kisor Wedding | Weekend Getaway

We had a great little family getaway to KC in August. Our friend Jason (and best man at our wedding) got married and Tom was one of the groomsmen. We headed down a little early to find some fun things to do! After driving and walking around Loose Park we eventually found the splash pad we were searching for. Alivia LOVED it! So much so, she didn't wan to leave....surprise surprise.

The wedding was an evening wedding so while Tom was doing groomsman duties, Alivia and I met up with a couple friends. We headed to Crown Center to go to Kaleidoscope. It is the great place with TONS of activities for kiddos. They have 40 min sessions that the kids can paint, make puzzles, make flags, color, experiment with different sounds, and much much more. It was AWESOME!

Then we got all dressed up and headed to celebrate with Jason and Courtney! The wedding was beautiful and Alivia did a great job being "good" while I was flying solo. I kept promising that if she was good we could dance the night away at the reception. Alivia loves loves loves to dance so she was super excited at the thought of doing a lot of it! And she did! We had to tear her off the floor to go back to the hotel.

She danced with Bella, the bride and flower girls, and pretty much anyone that would dance with her. She would walk up to a random girl or woman, grab their hands and ask them to dance with her. It was pretty cute...and a little nerve racking since many were not people we knew. But she was having the time of her life so who were we to stop her fun!

However, the cutest by far was Livi dancing with her Daddy! MELT my heart! For those of you that know Tom, he doesn't dance. He actually kind of hates to dance.

But even he couldn't say no to

"Daddy, you dance with me? Pease Daddy!"

And to end the night we capture "the boys".

Tom has a similar picture from high school senior pictures and from our wedding so it was only fitting that they do it again!

Day 5 {re-living vacation}

Day 5 we spent the morning at Downtown Disney

before heading to the airport to catch our plane!

We ate at the Rainforest Cafe.....

good food, rumbling thunderstorms,

and interesting company (the animals that is)!

That's all folks...We had a fantastic vacation but

back to Omaha we go,

new friends and all!!

So......when can we go back????

Day 4 {re-living vacation}

We spent Day 4 at Hollywood Studios...

meeting more characters and having lots of fun!!

Alivia doesn't watch very much television but she does occationally watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

We were able to go to a "live" version of the show. The puppets and interactive set were super fun!

We sat front row....Alivia LOVED LOVED LOVED this!

She danced, talked and yelled with excitement the whole show.

For lunch we ate at Play 'n Dine where you eat and mingle

with the characters from Playhouse Disney.

After lunch we went to play in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids mock set.

Up next Day 5...last and final...a little Downtown Disney and then back home we go.

Day 3 {re-living vacation}

Day 3 was our "down" day.

The moms took the 4 kids to the pool in the morning while the dads headed to Cape Canaveral and Coco Beach. When they returned, Jamie, Holly and I headed to the outlet mall for a little shopping. I had a little birthday money I specifically set aside for a new Coach purse. I LOVE the Coach outlet...such great steals!! I was even able to compliment my new beauty with a wallet! I can't decided if it is a good or bad thing that we don't have an outlet mall in Omaha.

After shopping, we all headed out to a fun Greek restaurant for dinner and entertainment. They throw cocktail napkins so they fan out in the air while a belly dancer performs.

Alivia was mesmerized.

She just stood there and watched so attentively.

After dinner we went the the Wonderworks Museum.

This was a little wierd from an architect's perspective. Our education is based on designing a building to stand upright. I'd have to put all those years of education aside to think through designing this museum.

Even the interior is upside down.

Day 2...a little video {re-living vacation}

Darren caught a little of the kids dancing during the Celebrations Parade. Alivia is toward the back taking it all in until Jesse comes over and gets her going!! Then they made us move and she was less than thrilled I picked her up.
