Sand in the City 2011

The Nebraska Children's Home Society Foundation held their 8th annual Sand in the City event this past weekend.  The prior 3 years I volunteered as a designer for a sponsoring company.  This year, LEO A DALY teamed up with our client SAC Federal Credit Union to be a sponsoring team.  It was fun to design and build with people that I work with on a regular basis outside our daily office setting.  Our theme this year was the Road to Omaha based on theCars 2 movie set to come out at the end of this month!

Finding Nemo...

Alivia and I made a trip to the zoo with a few friends a couple weeks ago.  We invited Melissa (one of our favorite babysitters) and Caleb and Cady (so that their mama Holly could get a couple hours of sleep after working all night).  We had such a fun time.  We pet the goats, rode the carousel and train, saw bears and monkeys but the highlight of the day was the aquarium.  Last year we only saw the fish once and Alivia HATED the aquarium tunnel.  This year was completely different.  She couldn't get enough of the fishies, sharks and turtles.  And we for sure found Nemo and Dori!!

Bunny Foo Foo

Easter was super fun this year.  Alivia LOVED hunting for Easter eggs and by the 4th hunt (yes 4) she was a pro.  We saw the Easter Bunny (aka Bunny Foo Foo) at the mall but only for a short hello...no picture.  If you saw our Santa picture, you can only imagine how the bunny would have gone.  We did manage to take picture with the Easter Bunny when it visited Jamie and Darren's house.  If you look at her face you will see she wasn't too happy about it. (If she only knew it was her Uncle Darren!)

Easter Egg Hunt #1 at Aunt Jamie and Uncle Darren's
Easter Egg Hunt #2 with Gigi and Papa's neighborhood
Easter Egg Hunt #3 on Easter at Church
Easter Egg Hunt #4 on Easter at Jamie and Darren's
(I guess I didn't think we needed any more pics of Easter egg hunts)

Missing him...

It's been 13 years since we said goodbye but we are one year closer to being together again.  I can't believe how life really does go on and how much things change but yet how so much stays the same.  I may be 13 years older but I am still my daddy's little girl.  I miss him just as much if not more now.  I know he knows the woman I have become, the man I married and our daughter but I wish that they could know him, actually know him not just the memories I share with them.  Today,  I choose to take comfort in knowing that he is Home with our Father, and we will meet again!  But, I still miss him...

Let the zoo days begin!!

We headed out to the zoo a couple weeks ago.  We met a friend from high school and her family for a few hours of fun!  Alivia and the two other kiddos had a great time!! Alivia LOVES the animals which makes the zoo so much more fun!!  Now, if only the train would have been running...good thing this was just the first visit of many!!

Looking at the fishies (aka Nemos) with Daddy!!
She started here...
and somehow ended here.
Silly cheese!

Omaha Home and Garden Show

Once again the Omaha Home and Garden Show was a HUGE success!!  Tom is still trying to catch up on all the leads the show brought in almost a month ago!  Here are a few images for your viewing!!
I had to include one with Alivia in it!!
She loved hanging out at the show....probably because there was a outdoor playset vendor with slides caddy corner from our booth.
